The Gerber Torch Recon LED fills four distinct roles all in one compact design. An integrated lens system allows the user to instantly switch between four light colours for different tasks.
This cool little torch has one bright white LED light, which the colour can be adjusted by the rotating bezel at the front of the torch, which Gerber has given the name D.I.A.L (Diode Illumination Adjustable Lens).
The clear lens offers the brightest white light for general-purpose use; a red dimmer lens is perfect for maintaining night vision; a blue lens helps with fluid identification – perfect for law enforcement professionals; and a green lens for map reading or general night visibility and safety. Everything you need in one torch.
Running on one AA battery and not much bigger than one, it’s a handy and tough torch made almost entirely of metal. The battery life is very good as it’ s not high-wattage.
Lightweight and durable, the Gerber Torch Recon LED weighs in at just 2.6oz and is 3.5″ in length. The body is constructed from anodized aluminium and is weatherproof for outdoor use.
The four colour LED torch has a zero visibility colour selection meaning by aligning the thumb flats on the body with the rotating bezel the torch will set to the D.I.A.L position of Red for night vision.
Sometimes the simple solution really is best. With the Gerber Torch Recon LED negates the need for different colour diodes or separate lenses that need to be carried and then swapped in the dark.
